Dr. John C. Glennon has been a prolific writer and researcher on the subject of roadway safety over a period of 40 years. Author of the book, Roadway Safety and Tort Liability, he has written over 120 publications about construction zone safety, forgiving roadsides, the safety of roadway curves, the placement of roadside barriers, the need for adequate sight distance, what creates a propensity for hydroplaning, the threshold of tolerability for pavement edge drop offs, the safety of railroad grade crossings, and the safe and proper use of traffic control devices. He has also developed new ways of thinking about both the science and the art of accident reconstruction. This volume of 22 collected works (12 of which are previously unpublished) is an attempt to preserve some of Dr. Glennon's ideas in order to show a body of work in a way that might inspire others to pursue some of the yet unsolved mysteries of roadway safety.
